About This Class
Have you ever wanted to learn how to make a cool loop in After Effects? Well then, you are in luck! In this skillshare class we will be animating a sneaky set of eyes peeking out of a letter, shape, or whatever your heart desires.
I’ll take you through the whole process – from setting up the file in illustrator or Photoshop – to animating in After Effects. Along the way you will learn many of my dirty little tricks that I have picked up in my travels as a professional motion designer. I have even deleted all my fancy plugins and be pretending that I use straight out-of-the-box After Effects so it will look just like yours! This class is aimed for beginners, so no knowledge of any programs is required.
You will be creating a sneaky animated loop in After Effects, covering all the steps from design to rendering.
Here’s what you will be creating with me:
I recommend using the first letter of your name for your illustration but it’s 2019, I’m not going to tell you what to do. First we will begin with a mood board and sketch, and then figure out a color palette. We will design in Adobe Illustrator. After that we will be importing our designs into After Effects, set up our files, and then Animate them. I will take you through some techniques for texturing and then we can render out our loops!
You may also design in Adobe Photoshop if you prefer, but this walk through will be done with Illustrator, so I would only recommend that if you are comfortable with the programs.
I encourage you to share you mood boards, sketches, progress, and final devious creations with me. I can’t wait to see what you come up with!
